Sports For Schools- Roy Turnham

We were fortunate enough to have a return visit from Sports For Schools today, with a very special guest- Roy Turnham. Roy, originally an 800m running, represented Team GB in The London 2012 Paralympics as a member of the 5-aside visually impaired football team.
Roy gave a talk to the whole school, discussing his story, his sporting ambitions and the perseverance required to aim high and work for your goals.

Sports For Schools raise money for their own charity, to aid young athletes to take part i sport competitively.  They also support the school in raising money for new sports equipment.  It was to this end that the whole school took part in a sponsored circuit training exercise.
The atmosphere in the hall was fabulous.  The children worked incredibly hard, cheering and supporting each other to take part in 4 grueling activities.  They laughed, sweated (a lot) and persevered, all completing the challenge.
With this in mind, we ask you all to dig deep and return your child's sponsor money to school as soon as possible so that we might be able to raise enough money to improve the sports equipment in school.
